Report on JEC Workshop Conducted on 27.09.2024

A workshop on “Characteristics of Japanese companies, mind-set when working at a Japanese company and differences between Indian and Japanese companies” was conducted at MPC on 27.09.24.

The workshop was conducted in three parts namely:

PART 1 : “India and Japan - Differences and Commonness”

PART 2 : “ Becoming world class - Lessons from Japan”

PART 3 : “Opportunities for Indian youth with Japan"

Mr Tomio Isogai , former MD, Sharp India Ltd was the resource Person , Ms. Chihiro Shimizu, JIM/JEC was the Coordinator . Mr Chellappa Sriram , president, ABT-AOTS Dosakai was also present .

Salient points of the workshop

  • 100 final year students ( 40 from Mechanical Engineering, 30 from Electrical & Electronics Engineering, 30 from Electronics & Communication Engineering) attended the workshop.
  • Students found the concepts of 5S, 3M, 5M+Motivation for sustainable manufacturing intersting. They also gained knowledge on 10 basic rules to make success with Japan and How to survive in a VUCA World.
  • This seminar is very informative to Faculty and Students. The students are studying Industrial Engineering and Management as a Theory subject in the final year. This seminar helps the faculties to explain concepts like 5S, KAIZEN, TPS, 6M, Etc.,
  • The contents of the Workshop are well planned for easy understanding to students. It also gave an overview of the opportunities available in Japan for young generation. It also gave an overview of the differences between Japanese and Indians and how India and Japan can be a best partners.
