Electronics (Robotics)
About the Department

A 3 1/2 years sandwich diploma course in Electronics (Robotics) affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai, Tamil Nadu & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, was started in the year 2003 as a self-financing program in Engineering and Technology. This program develops technicians in the specialized area of flexible manufacturing system and automation to meet industrial demand. With added experience there is a lot of potential for these diploma holders to become entrepreneurs or get overseas employment.

Highly qualified and experienced faculty members are the asset of this department. The students, guided by the faculty members, have completed many projects and have won several Competitions. The program is supplemented by several laboratories, which cover all areas of practical interest. Other than traditional laboratories like Electrical Circuits & Machines, Electronic Devices & Circuits, the students are exposed to specialized ones like Process Control & Instrumentation, Robotics, Hydraulic and Pneumatic, PLC, SCADA, Sensors, Computed Aided Drawing, Design & Manufacturing and Machine Shop Technology. The Robotics lab is equipped with the NACHI six axis robot to familiarize the students for pick and place operation.
